Workshop and FNSI

I just can't believe another week has just disappeared.....

It's Friday again tomorrow and as it is the third Friday of the month it's time to pop over to the lovely Wendy's Blog and sign up for  FNSI for a fun night of sewing......

Every day I've been going to post about the workshop our Patchwork group went too on Saturday. It was to make a lovely sewing pouch with lots of zips... Ekkk I'm not good with zips..

That was me all packed ready to go last Friday night...

all set up ready to sew.

Our fabulous tutor Janine had everything ready in a kit for us to start sewing and she showed us an easy way to stitch in all the zips..

I was sew busy sewing and listening to Janine that I didn't take any photos until I was nearly finished

Just had to attach the outer part which turned out to be even trickier than the zips....
All Done ..

All the pouches looked great all lined up at the end of the day.. Huge thanks to Janine for all her help..

Well must away to bed as it's nearly 12.30am.....

Hope to sew along with you tomorrow

  4. Now I think by looking at those pouches--that was more than a 'zipper' lesson you had there--look great--me I like little baskets to hold my projects--but that does make for a bigger problem when you have to run out the door unexpectedly and want to grab some sewing!!!
    enjoy, di

  9. Good for you! I'm still afraid of zips. Haven't done one since high school, ad as you can imagine, that was a few years back. I noticed your little scissors keep in your tote!

  10. Zips - I'm not comfortable with them either. The bags all look great, congratulations to the class, and the teacher.

  15. Great result! Is that the "Sew Together Bag" pattern? I've wondered about making that myself some time.

  16. How cool, they're all so pretty. What a nice collection of colors and patterns in the fabrics. Sounds like fun way to learn something new, to socialize and be productive. You looked quite organized before hand...way to go.

  17. What a lovely sewing pouch! You did a great job... after doing so many zips you will be a pro now :) Would you believe that I have a pattern in my craftsy cart that looks similar that I want to make soon?!! It would be more fun to do it in a group like you did, though... and so handy to have a kit ready to go. I am sure you'll use it a lot! xx

  18. What a great result from your workshop Maria... beautiful work & such a handy item you all made!
I have the pattern for that one & just never get around to making it... you know I don't fear zips, it's just the prep work I don't look forward to.

  19. Well done! The zippered pouches are too bad to make if you take your time and keep organised. Love the colours.
